Controllers that grow food, and the software that makes them smarter.

We build two product lines for controlled-environment growing — strawberry and carnation — each one a device we design and manufacture together with the software that runs it. One team, from the schematic to the cloud.

Product line 01 · strawberry

strawberry — controlled-environment strawberry growing: the Gorshok controller + the strawberry cloud

Controller in prototype, design freeze in progress · cloud in development, design-partner program forming

strawberry is our product line for growing strawberries in a controlled environment: the device and the software that makes sense of it, developed as one thing.

The Gorshok grow controller, rev.A1, is an ESP32-C6 board that runs a hydroponic or soil grow station on its own: peristaltic dosing pump and fan control, water level, load-cell weight, ambient light and BME680 environment sensing, NPK/EC/pH soil probes over RS485 Modbus RTU, DS18B20 temperature chains, and a WS2812 grow-light channel. It serves its own web UI, publishes to Home Assistant over MQTT, and speaks CAN to satellite boards. The firmware is written and hardware-in-the-loop verified against real boards; the design freeze and the first production run are the work in front of us.

The strawberry cloud collects high-resolution telemetry from a fleet of these controllers, keeps the full history in one place, and gives growers live monitoring, alerting and secure remote operation. On top of that history we are building yield-optimization models that connect what happened in the greenhouse to what came out of it, plus early warning for disease and equipment faults.

The platform is in active development and we are forming a design-partner program with commercial strawberry farms — the first sites shape the product and get the software with their hardware. One rule is fixed in the architecture: the controller stays fully autonomous offline. A cloud outage or a lapsed subscription degrades to local control, never to a dead greenhouse.

Product line 02 · carnation

carnation — the device constructor

Future line — in development

carnation is our second product line: a configurable device platform built around one ESP32-C6 board whose hardware personality — light channels, fans, encoder controls, USB-PD bus voltage — is composed rather than hard-coded, then flashed and recorded per unit. The device constructor lives inside our ERP, so every board carries a serial number with its full history: what firmware was written to it, by whom, when, and the verbatim report of every functional test it passed.

It is how we intend to build hardware at small volume without losing traceability: a new variant is a new configuration and a bill of materials, not a new production process. The same discipline backs the custom electronics work we take on outside our own lines — schematic and PCB design, firmware, bring-up and small-batch manufacturing with per-unit traceability.

Research

libtracer

Open source, Apache-2.0

An open research track, deliberately kept off the product critical path: libtracer is a zero-copy, decentralized, graph-based pub/sub protocol designed to carry one wire format from a 16 KB microcontroller to a GPU, across vendors and transports. Source and specification are public at github.com/avatarsd-llc/libtracer.
